pasted top cloth
the top cloth goes between the highest hive box and the quilt. to keep the bees from chewing through it and into the quilt, it needs some treatment. standard practice is to use rye or wheat paste. just like putting up a poster, only you don't have to do it in the middle of the night and run from the cops afterward. this is pretty easy to do yourself if you've got access to rye or wheat flour and a fat paint brush. if you don't want to do it, I'm happy to.
